My DSP 2: Please Don’t Scream

Song: Please Don’t Scream

Artist: Nataly Dawn

Year: 2013

Favorite Lyric: There’s not a peace/piece in this house that you haven’t destroyed

Significance: Nataly Dawn is half of house favorite band Pomplamoose, and this entry could be seen as bending – though not breaking – the DSP rules. Nataly is an artist in her own right/write, with her own stuff, but this song sounds for all the world like Pomplamoose. To me, that’s a good thing. And I’d say this is my song of the year, so I would be remiss not to include it here. At first, I thought my favorite lyric was, “There’s not a piece in this house that you haven’t destroyed,” then realized it was probably “peace in this house,” since she’s singing about a guy that’s always yelling. The duality of that, whether it was meant to be dual or not, impresses me. My kind of clever.
